Donate to PARSOL’s 2022 Campaign July 2022 Significant developments in sex offense policy reform are occurring that would have been unimaginable even ten years ago. Your continued support of the Pennsylvania Association for Rational Sexual Offense Laws (PARSOL) makes this progress possible. Thank you! In the past few months: The American Law Institute has recommended an update to the Model Penal Code, and the stance of these legal professionals is clear: eliminate public registries. The nomination of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court of the U.S. brought national awareness to the negative impact of Mandatory Minimums on individuals who are charged with first-time non-violent sexual offenses. Top academic and legal professionals became more vocal against mishandling the issues of public safety and individual liberty when it comes to sex offense convictions and punishments at the NARSOL conference in June. The Supreme Court of PA questioned the false claim that the recidivism rate of people forced to register is high, demanding proof. This is a major factor in a number of Supreme Court cases, and may ultimately decide the fate of PA's sex offense registry. With your support and continued investment, we have worked tirelessly to take proactive measures to advance the need for sex offense policy reform. Here at PARSOL, we have made significant progress on a number of our strategic goals: In the last year, we connected with the PA Sex Offender Assessment Board, PA Judicial Center, and county-level reentry coordinators from Erie to Philadelphia. We're forging relationships with the Pennsylvania Reentry Council and Philadelphia Reentry Coalition, building programs and resources. We have connected with United Voices for Sex Offense Reform, a national advocacy organization working toward complementary goals We have launched a YouTube channel and have more content in the works We continue to engage more and more volunteers who share their talents and help us make new advancements Our Fearless support group and regular Zoom sessions provide safe forums for persons forced to register, families, and loved ones to learn, share, and grow Will you please chip in $10, $20, $50, or whatever you can to sustain and maintain this momentum? We are an all-volunteer team, but we do have significant operating expenses. Your tax-deductible donation today allows us to continue this critical work on behalf of those affected by Pennsylvania’s registry.
